WEBSITE PROPOSAL

TOPIC: My academic goal for this course is to redesign my pre-existing graphic design/art portfolio and transform into an updated version that represents who I am as an artist and who I want to be.

AUDIENCE: This portfolio will be used in my graduate school application and represent my work during my undergraduate studies. My target audience would be graduate schools admission officers and recruiters of companies. Secondary audiences would be anyone interested in art and design. My audience's background would be that of middle to upper-class, upholding a position of power, and ages ranging from 25 to 60. Further, the majority of my viewers will be people representing an organization which will affect how my work will be perceived.

PURPOSE: As a senior at UCSB, I plan to go to graduate school and further my research in the art of design. My objective is to become a designer and in order to do so, I have to apply to schools. Further, in the application process they want me to present a design/art portfolio, in addition a website portfolio. While I already have a pre-existing website, it is in need of an update of my current work and redesign. For this project, I plan to add in more work, descriptions, and remove anything unnecessary.

CONTENT: For this project, I want to create a website that represents who I am and the work I seek to create. This portfolio will be a key aspect in the success of my application or the reason for my rejection. Therefore, I want to put my best work forward and represent it as successfully as I can. The content that will be used is recent art work within the last three years which will have a title, date, and description attached. Furthermore, the resources that will be used are work made during my undergraduate studies at UCSB, Paws Chicago Graphic Design internship, and Newsletter chairman at UCSB Gamma Phi Beta.

This is the title & alphabet page I used in order to create my typeface
front design. These images were originally hand-drawn and converted into Photopea and Adobe Photoshop. I will use this as a title in my typography section of my website which will showcase my front and artwork.

This is the alphabet version of my typeface design titled "Stella Star" and I overlaid/blended the title and each alphabet letter into a cohesive work. Further, this work will be used in my typography section which will display my typeface skills.

This is a drawing I drew and used filters over to create a stronger, more colorful work. This work will be used in my marker section a way to showcases my traditional art skill set.

I wanted to overlay a cloud background image, my artwork, and text to create a dreamy work of art.

This sculpture was created to make the viewer feel uneasy and I decided to further that feeling through multiplying the eye imagery.
